District judge sewer contract amended
The Butler County commissioners on Tuesday amended a contract with Pedersen & Pedersen of Valencia to design a storm sewer line for handling stormwater runoff on Marshall Road in Cranberry Township.
The $4,261 expense is needed as part of the construction for a new district judge office in the township.
The amendment includes a $2,000 provision if work also is done to the storm sewers if they are too small for the culvert.
Under the original $22,350 contract, Pedersen & Pedersen was hired to provide engineering services for the $700,000 project.
The new building, which will be 3,200 square feet, replaces an office leased from Lue-Regent Associates for District Judge David Kovach’s office on Executive Drive.
Sunnyview accountingThe commissioners hired the New Castle firm of Carbis Walker to provide accounting services for the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on an interim basis for $125 to $200 an hour, depending on the service. The firm estimates the monthly cost will be $8,000 to $10,000.It is doing this work because Bill Kepple, Sunnyview fiscal director, is leaving his post for a new job.
Sheetz easementThe commissioners approved a grading and slope maintenance agreement with Sheetz to accommodate PennDOT requirements.Under the agreement, Sheetz is granted a construction easement of 10 feet in depth and 244 feet in length on county property along Morton Avenue, where the company is erecting a new convenience store in Butler Township.
