JEFFERSON TWP — The township is expected to receive additional financial backing for the ongoing renovation of SEBCO Pool, in the form of a $125,000 contribution from Concordia Lutheran Services.

The board of supervisors voted to accept Concordia’s donation agreement at its monthly meeting Monday, July 13. The agreement calls for Concordia to donate $100,000 to the renovation project in 2026 and another $25,000 in 2027.

SEBCO Pool is closed this summer while a renovation is taking place to address decades-long infrastructure issues, including the heater, the pool liner and the filter room. The pool is expected to reopen next summer.

Other contributions for the renovation project have come from the PNC Charitable Trusts, which is pitching in $75,000.

“The renovations are going well, and they’re on schedule,” township manager Leo Rosenbauer said.

Data centers

The board has tasked the township’s planning commission with developing a potential ordinance to address the existence and proliferation of data centers. According to the agenda for Monday night’s meeting, the nine-member planning commission will research already existing data center ordinances in townships across Pennsylvania to use as a reference.

Rosenbauer, who is also a planning commission member, said he is not sure when any potential ordinance will be drafted.

“I do not have a date on that,” Rosenbauer said after the meeting.
