Roy Burns
Roy D. Burns, 71, of Boyers, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family.
Born Jan. 7, 1955, in Butler, Roy was the son of the late Charles Edward Burns and Ruth Catherine (Birckbichler) Burns.
Roy graduated from Butler High School in 1973. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy. Roy worked as an HVAC technician at Slippery Rock University before retiring in January of 2014. He loved anything that involved being outdoors. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, camping and most of all, spending time with family.
He is survived by his five children, Daniel (Becky) Roy Burns, Regina (Robert) Pruitt, Jedidiah Burns, Stephanie (Johnny) Cox and Nathaniel Burns. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary (Gene) Eiler; and one brother, Lawrence (Charlene) Vicario. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Sue C. Burns, whom he married Sept. 12, 1981, and who passed away Oct. 30, 2006.
BURNS — Family and friends of Roy D. Burns, who died Saturday, June 20, 2026, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 26, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be held immediately after the visitation at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Hurd officiating.
