John Dasch scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Butler Middle School hockey team to a 6-1 victory over Sewickley Academy recently.

Jerome Oliver and Troy Gilliland both added a goal and two assists for Butler while Matt Bernardi and Jared Chatz netted a goal each.

Bryce Rearick made 12 saves in goal for Butler (8-1-1), which takes on Seneca Valley (7-0-2) at 7:50 p.m. Friday at the Baierl Ice Complex in Warrendale.

Basketball

Brian Presco scored 10 points and Zach Slomers added six as the Butler eighth grade Gold boys edged North Hills, 25-23, Tuesday.

Butler (2-4) returns to action Monday at Deer Lakes.

Carson Stein sank an 18-footer to tie the game with 1.7 seconds left and the Butler seventh grade boys Gold team went on to defeat North Hills, 44-40, in overtime.

Gavin Wright had 15 points and 12 rebounds, Stein eight points, Malachi Stephenson seven points and 11 rebounds for the Golden Tornado (3-3).
