Lawrence Bennett
Lawrence “Larry” O. Bennett, 85, of Butler, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2026.
He was born in McKeesport on Feb. 21, 1941, son of the late John and Christianna (Blush) Bennett. Larry graduated from Glassport High School and furthered his education at Taylor University. He was employed at Butler Memorial Hospital for 44 years.
Larry was known for being a great husband, father, provider and caretaker. He was a dedicated servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and member of North Main Street Church of God. For many years, he was the Special Olympics tennis coach in Butler.
Larry was the beloved husband of the late Judith (Nielson) Bennett, until her passing in June of 2025; father of Karen (Mark) Crossetti and Jonathan, James (Genevieve) and Benjamin Bennett; brother of William “Bill” Bennett and Vivian Malits; and grandfather of Colton and Tyler Crossetti and Brendan, Connor and Haley Bennett.
Along with his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by his siblings, David and Allan “Duane” Bennett and Kathleen “Kathy” Mills.
BENNETT — Family and friends of Lawrence “Larry” O. Bennett, who died Thursday, May 28, 2026, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 1, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Extension, Butler.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
