David Paul Meloy, 84, of Butler, passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, with his family by his side.

Dave was born on Dec. 29, 1941, in Washington, Pa., and was the son of the late Robert and Pearl (Smith) Meloy.

Dave retired from IA Construction and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed all types of motor sports and raced for 13 years for various car owners and was a member of the American Motorcycle Association.

Dave is survived by his wife of 52 years, Virginia “Ginger” (Haefner) Hartman Meloy; his son, Brian Meloy; his stepsons, Daniel (Tracy) Hartman and Darrell (Autumn) Hartman; daughter-in-law, Debbie Hartman and Brian; his grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Saxon, Maggie and Emme; and great-grandchildren, Chase, Brooks, Parker and Hazel.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his stepson, David Louis Hartman; and his sisters, Jennifer Cunningham and Winifred Meloy.

MELOY — Friends of David Paul Meloy, who died Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service and military honors at noon, on Thursday, Oct. 15, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew, with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.
