Butler youths ages 10-12 won the PeeWee Division of the Steel City Scholastic Year End Classic Hockey Tournament at the Alpha Ice Complex in Harmarville over the weekend.

Butler defeated Hampton, 4-2, in the championship game. The team also defeated Shaler 3-2, Hampton 3-2, Fox Chapel 5-2 and tied Pine-Richland 3-3 in the tourney.

Team members included goalie Jeffrey Kreidler, Liam McClaine, Parker Worsley, Brayden Povlick, Aiden Birckbichler, Adam Deal, Brody Simko, Ryan Bernardi, Jared Chantz, Tristan McGarrah, goalie Nate Dickey, Josh Deal, Matthew Bernardi and Ethan Miller.

Coaches were Bryan Worsley and Kevin McClaine.

Wrestling[/naviga:h3] Three Butler elementary wrestlers qualified for the PJW State Tournament recently. Santino Sloboda, 8, won the 8-under 55-pound class at the Area 7 state qualifier. Levi Donnel, 10, won the 10-under 65-pound class and Cooper Baxter, 12, took second in the 12-under 115-pound class. The state tournament is in Erie this weekend.
