Melvin Davis
Melvin L. Davis, 95, of Marion Township, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Born Dec. 2, 1930, in Carnegie, he was the son of the late Daisy M. White Davis and the late Clyde M. Davis.
Mel was a faithful member of Calvin Presbyterian Church of Zelienople. He was actively involved with the Plus 55 Bowling League. He was also the first softball coach for Calvin Presbyterian. He was a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed camping, gardening and all forms of motor vehicular racing. Mel will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind his son, Matthew C. Davis; his brother, Clyde G. Davis; and his sons, Clyde Davis and his wife, Janice, and their son, Lorenzo, and Thomas Davis and his wife, Charlene.
In addition to his parents, Mel was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Joann T. Davis; and his brother, Ralph K. Davis, and his wife, Jane, and their daughter, Gayle Benard, and her husband, Pete.
DAVIS — Friends of Melvin L. Davis, who died Thursday, May 21, 2026, will be received from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at the funeral home, with the Rev. A. David Paul officiating. Committal prayers and military honors will be held at the funeral home immediately following the service.
Mel will be laid to rest at Jefferson Memorial Park in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Mel’s honor to the American Legion.
