SEBCO Pool renovation still on target for November completion
The ongoing renovation of SEBCO Pool in Jefferson Township is on schedule. The pool is expected to reopen in time to once again welcome swimmers from southern Butler County in the summer, according to township supervisor Leo Rosenbauer.
“The pool should be completed,” Rosenbauer said. “We’re shooting for a November completion date. Everything is on schedule.”
According to Rosenbauer, no “significant” or unexpected difficulties have taken place during the renovation process, led by Main Line Commercial Pools.
The renovation, which the township spent multiple years searching for funds to get underway, is estimated to cost $2.7 million when all is said and done. About $1.06 million of the cost will come from grants, which the township had previously secured from Pennsylvania agencies.
At a board of supervisors meeting held Monday night, the board began looking at a proposed and preliminary budget for the 2027 fiscal year, although it is not expected to be voted on until December.
According to Rosenbauer, the new budget is not expected to come with a tax increase. There should be few significant differences from the 2026 budget — aside from the lack of the $601,000 expense for the pool renovation project — which should be finished by the time January rolls around.
