John ‘Jack’ Oddo Jr.
John M. “Jack” Oddo Jr., 88, of Kittanning Hollow, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 22, 2026, under the compassionate care of Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born Nov. 19, 1937, in Bradys Bend, Jack was the son of John M. “Hoot” Sr. and Geraldine C. (Lehner) Oddo.
On May 18, 1963, he married the former Judy A. Elder. Together, they shared 63 years of devoted marriage.
Jack was a 1955 graduate of East Brady High School and, shortly thereafter, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He proudly served with the 7227th Support Squadron and the 442nd Air Police Squadron and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.
Jack found great joy in spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and doing his own carpentry work. He could often be found tinkering in his garage, always working on a project or lending a helping hand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy A. Oddo, of Kittanning Hollow; three sons, John (Lisa) Oddo, of Parrish, Fla., Michael (Susan) Oddo, of Downingtown, Pa., and Brian (Terri) Oddo, of Pinellas Park, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Thanna (Dylan) Duerring, Johnnie Oddo, Michael Jack (Dr. Brittany Fischer) Oddo, Jordan Oddo, Jenna Oddo, Lauren (Alex) Hernandez and Bryant (Makenzie) Oddo; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Hernandez and Christian Duerring.
He is also survived by two sisters, Rose (Bill) Blakney and Mary Jane (Bill) Richardson; two brothers, James Oddo and Thomas (Catherine) Oddo; a sister-in-law, Shirley Wilson; a brother-in-law, John Eisenhuth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Charles Wilson; and two sisters-in-law, Bernice Oddo and Bonnie Eisenhuth.
ODDO — Friends of John M. “Jack” Oddo Jr., who died Friday, May 22, 2026, will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.
Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Samuel Swick officiating.
Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Jack’s memory to a local ambulance service or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
