Luvern Edmunds
Luvern A. Edmunds, 78, of Eastvale, Beaver County, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday while under the compassionate care of the staff at Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.
Born Nov. 29, 1928, in Pickens, W.Va., she was a daughter of Oliver and Hazel Morrison McCord.
She had been employed in the surgical prep department of the Beaver Medical Center for 18 years. She later worked at the New Brighton Thrift Store.
She enjoyed a variety of crafts including quilting, needlepoint, wood crafts and sewing.
Mrs. Edmunds was a member of the New Brighton Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are her loving husband of 36 years, Howard C. Edmunds; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jerry and Elaine Waugaman of Buckhannon, W.Va., David and Patty Waugaman of Lawrenceville, Ga., Timothy Waugaman of Paris, Texas, and Jeffrey Waugaman of Morgantown, W.Va.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and George Price of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Joy Waugaman of Harmony; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. A brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Dorothy McCord of Hopewell Township, Beaver County; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Waugaman; two brothers, Doyle and Junior McCord; and a sister: Olena McCord.
<B>EDMUNDS </B>— Friends of Luvern A. Edmunds, who died Wednesday, July 25, 2007, will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>GABAUER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 273 Route 68, Rochester, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will follow in the Garden of the Good Shepherd, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
