Mary Margaret Kriley Carbin, 94, of Cabot, passed away at her residence Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026.

Born Dec. 8, 1931, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late John J. Kriley and Marie Gillespie Kriley.

A graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1949, Mary formerly worked at Castle Rubber in East Butler. She was extremely devoted to her home and family.

Mary and her beloved husband, Victor B. “Jim” “Speedy” Carbin, are now reunited in heaven. They married Sept. 22, 1955, and Jim passed away Sept. 6, 2020.

Mary was a member of Sts. Francis and Clare Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church. She was active in the Christian Mothers of St. Mary’s, where she served as past president. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards and bingo. A sports enthusiast, she especially loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.

Mary is survived by five daughters, Victoria Cornetti, of Saxonburg, Catherine Maser (Larry), of Butler, Mary Lou Cypher, of Saxonburg, Maria Gildea (Matt), of Belchertown, Mass., and Patricia Gall (Walter), of Butler; and four sons, James Carbin (Linda), of Melbourne, Fla., Raymond Carbin, of Saxonburg, Randal Carbin, of Southgate, Ky., and Stephen Carbin (Sherry), of Buford, Ga.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Brian Jesteadt (Eva), Jason Jesteadt (Meghan), Veronica Cornetti, Joseph Cornetti (Samantha), Benjamin Cypher (Melissa), Jarrett Carbin, Brandon Carbin, Sarah Bowser (Ryan), Taylor Alvarez (Michael), Madison Sellers (Chris), Meghan Gildea, Monica Gildea, Karley Hatz (Nathan), and the quadruplets, Mary Gall (fiancé Brody Baker), Heather Gall, Emily Gall, and Natalie Gall; and three step-grandchildren, Gregory Maser (Melisse), Benjamin Maser (Joanne), and David Maser.

In addition, Mary is survived by seven great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Lucas Jesteadt, Hanna and Ryan Cornetti, and Rylee, Reagan, and Remington Cypher; one step-great-granddaughter, Olivia Maser; one step-great-grandson, Hayden Smith; four siblings, Sister Frances Mary Kriley, CDP, Pearl Kocher, Rita Snyder, and John Kriley; one sister-in-law, Patricia Kriley; and many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Mary was preceded in death by one grandson, Kevin Jesteadt and his fiancée, Lindsey Myers; two sons-in-law, Dale Cornetti and Ben Cypher; and her siblings, Eva Mae Kriley, Leonard Kriley, Helen Grence, Aline Pavlek Goodrich, Floyd Kriley, Adrian Kriley and Father Victor Kriley, OFM Cap.

CARBIN — Friends of Mary Margaret Kriley Carbin, who died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15, at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Sts. Francis and Clare Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler, with the Rev. Ward Stakem, OFM Cap., officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
