I was saddened to read that the theater group Sing Hosanna! was disbanding (“Sing Hosanna musical theater group to disband by end of summer,” April 15, Page 1).

Sing Hosanna! was known for bringing Broadway musicals and Easter pageants to the local stage, and for featuring lots of children in its performances — including my sons in a cast of “Oliver.” Through rehearsals, set construction and performances, Sing Hosanna! taught important life skills — such as showing up on time, following directions, doing your best, and working as a team.

Ralph Christy Jr., Sing Hosanna!’s founder and executive director, touched hundreds of young lives over the past 47 years.

You had an incredible run, Mr. Ralph, and your efforts made Butler a better place.
