BC3 tobacco ban nonsense
My response to the June 18 front-page article "Campus cuts out smoking" is that a smoking ban at an outside venue at Butler County Community College is not realistic.
If discarded cigarette butts are a problem, more ashtrays should be made available.
I am a former student at the BC3 campus and believe that this type of ban would only force smokers into a places of hiding. This would be more dangerous to the campus grounds.
If the college is serious about cleaner air, then the board of directors also should ban the use of the thousands of automobiles that come on campus every day.
This "no smoking ban" cancer has affected the common sense of our political leaders and our educators. If this line of thinking continues, we may soon see no-smoking signs at bus stops.
