Tuition will rise at BC3
BUTLER TWP— Tuition will increase $3 per credit hour for Butler County residents going to Butler County Community College.
The BC3 board of trustees on Wednesday approved the increase effective July 1, bringing the cost of tuition and fees to $91 per credit.
Greg Zappala, board member and finance committee chair, said a tuition increase is the only option. The college gets funding from the state and county, but both sources have flatlined their funding for the next school year, he said as he explained the need to the board.
County residents will be charged $73 for tuition, $2 for academic fee and $16 for comprehensive fee.
State residents from non-sponsored counties will be charged $146 per hour in tuition.
The college will charge $219 per credit in tuition for out-of-state residents.
