BC3 child center opens
BUTLER TWP — The Children's Creative Learning Center at Butler County Community College has opened in the newly renovated former bookstore between the Arts and Hospitality building and the Social Sciences building.
The center moved from Armstrong Lodge after a 60-foot oak tree fell on the roof during a May 6 storm, making the lodge unsafe. The college board of trustees has not decided whether to repair or to demolish the lodge.
In August, the center received an occupancy permit from Butler County and a license for child care from the state Department of Public Welfare.
The center provides child care, preschool, and kindergarten education for children of BC3 students, faculty, and staff. It also is open to the public if space is available
Currently, the facility is filled with 31 children.
