A project to improve a section of State Route 228 in Buffalo and Clinton townships has received $7 million in federal Community Project Funding grants.

The project is aimed at reconstructing, realigning and rehabilitating the road, including the installation of turning lanes to Coal Hollow and Lardintown roads and Freeport Street.

“The Clinton Township supervisors collaborated with the office of Rep. Mike Kelly and PennDOT to ensure that the safety concerns identified by the township were appropriately addressed,” said Clinton Township manager Ashley Kohley. “The changes would improve the flow of traffic and expand upon the improvements that have already been made to 228.”
