Police: Tuesday presence on West Brady Street followed attempted traffic stop
The large police presence Tuesday night, Oct. 20, on West Brady Street in Butler resulted from a brief vehicle pursuit where the alleged perpetrator fled to a home in the area, according to Butler City Police Chief Robert O’Neill.
Police surrounded a home near the corner of West Brady and North Church streets after identifying a driver from a previous vehicle pursuit.
The alleged driver was identified and traced to the home after their vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The vehicle fled the traffic stop, and police terminated the pursuit after a brief chase, O’Neill said.
“This was not a large-scale event,” O’Neill said.
He expects charges for fleeing and eluding police and other summary charges to be filed pending investigation.
