Barbara ‘Dutch’ Leonard
Barbara Lou “Dutch” Leonard, 82, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 9, 1943, in Butler, to the late Eugene and Emma (Parton) Harrer.
Barbara worked several jobs during her life. She worked for Butler High School as a cafeteria worker; the Days Inn as a housekeeper; then for Giant Eagle as a cook in the hot foods section. Barbara’s most important position, however, was as a homemaker for her loving family.
Barbara enjoyed playing bingo, playing computer games, watching her Pittsburgh Steelers, watching her soap operas, making her trips to Disney World to meet Donald Duck, as well as spending time with her loving family.
Barbara is survived by her five daughters, Darlene Ferne, Sharon (Mike) Bartley, Carol (Jeff) Smith, Deborah (Bill) Croup and Machele (Greg) Marfil; her 15 grandsons; her granddaughter; her 19 great-grandchildren; as well as by her numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Richard L. Leonard, whom she married June 14, 1962, and passed away April 9, 2012; her three sisters; as well as her great-grandson, Aiden Bartley.
LEONARD — A visitation for Barbara Lou “Dutch” Leonard, who died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A funeral service will be held immediately after the visitation, at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Miller officiating.
