Donald McIlvain, 76, of Butler, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2026.

He was born in Butler on June 4, 1950, the son of the late Albert and Ruth (Heckert) McIlvain.

Donald honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972.

He loved to go fishing and target shooting at Summit Township Sportsman’s Club. Donald was known for being selfless and having a great sense of humor.

He was the father of Pat McIlvain; brother of Nancy Secunda; and grandfather of Harriet and Georgeanne McIlvain.

Along with his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Thanh.

MCILVAIN — Family and friends of Donald McIlvain, who died Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, will be received from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler. Full military honors will immediately follow in the funeral home.

Burial will be held privately.
