SV staff are the real magic makers

Seneca Valley School District’s magic does not come from buildings, debt service or administrative plans. It comes from the people inside the building.

It comes from the teachers who see a twice-exceptional or neurodivergent student and make them feel capable, valued and understood. It comes from the lunch ladies who know kids by name and notice when someone hasn’t eaten much or seems off that day. It comes from the custodians who take pride in the school, keep it safe, and quietly mentor teens who need a steady adult presence to stay on the right path.

It comes from the coaches who give a student a ride home because mom and dad are working two jobs, just so that child can make it to practice and feel like they belong to something good. It comes from the aides, counselors, secretaries and support staff who listen, encourage, and step in long before a child reaches a breaking point.

In the midst of ongoing turmoil, discussions of construction and debates about finances, it is easy for leadership to forget what truly makes a school important. But they would be wrong to think that the magic is concrete and glass.

The magic comes from within the building — from the human beings who show up every day and care deeply about our children.

I see you. And I know many other parents see you too. Please know that your work matters more than you will ever realize.
