Groves

Alma Young-Groves, 89, of New Sewickley Township, Beaver County, died Saturday at the UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCa-ndless Township.

Born Oct. 19, 1917, in New Sewickley Township, she was the daughter of John and Anna Blank Fogel.

She was the founder and longtime owner of Young's Custard Stand on Route 68, New Sewickley Township.

She was a lifetime member of St. John's (Burry's) Church and the church's Faith Circle. She also was a life member of the Big Knob Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Her favorite pastimes included crafts, and she was a member of many bowling leagues.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Leroy K. and Twila Wimer Young and Eugene L. and Carol Sproat Young, all of New Sewickley Township, Paul W. "Windy" and Gerri Gettman Young of Zelienople and Woodrow A. and Rose Vrabely Young of New Sewickley Township; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy K. Young; her second husband, John Groves; a brother, Clarence Fogel; and a sister, Lillian Bowser.

<B>YOUNG-GROVES </B>— Friends of Alma Young-Groves, who died Saturday, July 21, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's (Burry's) Church, New Sewickley Township, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Van Arsdale officiating.
