Regarding U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th, leader of the U.S. Congressional Task Force investigating the July 13, 2024, Donald Trump assassination attempt: I find it very hard to accept that Mr. Kelly led an investigation and issued a summary that did not include even a superficial look at any social media platforms.

Even a technologically challenged young adult has no problem trolling the numerous and readily available social media platforms.

What are we the citizens of the U.S. supposed to think when investigative reporters uncover prolific information that our Congressional leaders “are unaware of…?”

Sorry, but communication difficulties among federal agencies and an election season are poor excuses.

Further, I believe it is very apparent — at least to most Americans — that any reliance on the FBI for information has been futile.

Mr. Kelly stated that the American people cannot handle the lies. I believe that we also cannot handle an inept task force. Mr. Kelly should be held to a higher standard.
