A write-in candidate will join three incumbents taking seats on the Freeport Area School District board of directors, according to unofficial results from the Nov. 4 election updated Thursday to include provisional and mail-in ballot votes and votes for write-in candidates.

Three incumbents candidates appeared on the election ballot for four open four-year seats on the board. Voters wrote-in the names of the other candidates.

Among the incumbents, Christine Davies received the most votes with 2,288, followed by Melanie Zembrzuski with 2,157 and Gary L. Rish Jr. with 2,068, according to unofficial results from Butler and Armstrong counties. All three board members cross-filed.

Shane Hinderliter led the write-in candidates with 208 votes, followed by Gene Breski with 100 and Samantha Buterbaugh with 15, according to the results.
