A Zelienople man is charged with indecent assault after police said he inappropriately touched two juveniles in several incidents over multiple years, according to Zelienople police.

Charles Lewis, 83, was charged Friday, Oct. 23, with felony corruption of minors and three misdemeanor counts of indecent assault following an Aug. 20 child welfare report.

Police interviewed the two juveniles Aug. 24. One told police inappropriate contact occurred between 2014 and 2019 and they could clearly recall two incidents, according to police. The other juvenile disclosed one alleged incident of inappropriate contact in either 2020 or 2021.

Police said the time lapsed between the incidents and investigation into them was a result of the juveniles not understanding what was happening when they were younger.

Lewis’ preliminary hearing has not been scheduled.
