Police release more information on Wednesday morning rollover crash
A McKeesport man was transported to Butler Memorial Hospital early Wednesday morning when a water tanker truck overturned on Kittanning Pike in Fairview Township.
Police said Jake A. Coker, 24, was driving the International Harvester water tanker truck around 2:45 a.m. on Kittanning Pike near Fairmont Road when he came to a left curve in the road. Police said Coker was driving too fast and lost control.
The tanker traveled off the road and struck a speed limit sign as it began to roll, police said. The tanker stopped on its roof, and Coker was assisted out by bystanders at the scene.
Karns City Regional Ambulance Service transported Coker to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Petrolia Volunteer Fire Department, state police, Chicora Volunteer Fire Department and Bruin Volunteer Fire Department also responded.
