Once again, North Catholic girls tennis had a banner-worthy year, taking home silver medals in the district and state team championships this season.

The Trojanettes are a young roster, too, and should be in the thick of deep playoff runs next year.

Because of that, sophomore Evelyn Marche is this year’s Butler Eagle Girls Tennis Player of the Year. A leading singles and postseason doubles player, Marche powered North to its WPIAL and PIAA finals appearances.

Meet the Butler Eagle Girls Tennis All-Stars, including first team and honorable mentions:

Player of the Year

Evelyn Marche, so., North Catholic — Marche helped drive another deep Trojanettes playoff run this season, as they made the PIAA Class 2A Girls Tennis Team Championship final and finished second in the WPIAL team championships. Marche won the WPIAL Class 2A Section 3 singles title 6-1, 6-1 over The Ellis School’s Allegra Scringi. To get there, she beat teammate Macaria Stall in the semis. Marche then won her WPIAL singles first-round match while combining with Stall to claim WPIAL doubles silver to qualify for the PIAA doubles championships, where they lost in the first round.
