Corey James Daum
Corey James Daum, 39, of Hendersonville, Tenn., died at 12:48 a.m. Saturday from injuries received while a passenger in an automobile accident in Nashville, Tenn.
Born June 14, 1969, in Butler, he was the son of William L. Daum and Darlene M. (Evans) Daum.
Corey worked in the accounting department for BMI, Broadcast Music Inc., in Nashville and attended the Long Hollow Baptist Church.
He was a 1987 graduate of Butler High School.
Corey attended Indiana (Pa.) University and the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, Calif. Following his graduation, Corey played lead guitar and toured with the band Lizzy Borden. He was a talented musician and played guitar, fiddle, mandolin and drums.
Corey was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting with his cousin Jim and friend Richie in Georgia. He loved the outdoors, especially kayaking.
Mr. Daum is survived by his former wife, Julie Plowman Daum; one son, Samuel James Daum, 8, and one daughter, Aldyn Faith Daum, 6, all of Hendersonville; his parents, William L. and Darlene M. (Evans) Daum of Butler; one brother, Joshua Daum of Butler; his paternal grandmother, Wilda R. Daum of Butler; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Corey was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.
<B>DAUM</B> — Friends of Corey James Daum, who died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Tom Holman of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
