CLAY TWP — Longtime township Supervisor David Beachem won another six- year term Tuesday, based on unofficial election results.

Beachem, a Democrat, has served as supervisor for 24 years and is the chairman of the three-person board.

Beachem got 196 votes, according to unofficial results posted online by the county Bureau of Elections. Republican challenger Donald Wilson had 161 votes.

Beachem, 61, works for the township's streets department and said he wanted to continue to work on the township's infrastructure and its park on Euclid School Road.

“I'd like to thank all the voters in Clay Township and I hope I can do another six years for them,” he said Tuesday night.

Wilson, a lifelong resident of the township, was making his first foray into politics with his candidacy.
