On Friday, volunteers — including, above, Debbi Kruger, a volunteer for the Butler County Historical Society — along with Scott Lindley, Walldogs organizer, primed at least two locations, both on West Diamond Street, for the mural project. According to Lindley, the priming evens out flaws on the painting surface and gives a blank area for the muralists. The priming is expected to be done by Monday, and the mural painting begins July 28, according to Pat Collins, executive director of the Butler County Historical Society. The 10 murals planned for downtown Butler will depict people, places or events in Butler County history.
