Gary Bruce Smith
Gary Bruce Smith, 66, of Bluegrass Drive died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, at his home.
Born Sept. 30, 1940, in Butler, he was the son of Jesse and Florence Bauder Smith.
He was a superintendent at the former Armco plant and retired from its stainless processing in May 1999.
A member of the Community Alliance Church, he was an active volunteer and was a member of small group and bible studies. He was a member of Habitat for Humanity, and he enjoyed playing golf and doing wood working.
He was a graduate of Butler High School and the University of Cincinnati, where he received is bachelor of science degree in metallurgical engineering.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Henry Smith, whom he married May, 9, 1987, two daughters, Christine Heinrich of Baltimore and Cathy Smith of Groton, Conn.; a son, David Smith of Pittsburgh; a stepson, John Tracy of DuBois; a stepdaughter, Emily Marshall of Philadelphia; a brother, Bill Smith of Butler; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
<B>SMITH</B> — Friends of Gary Bruce Smith, who died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ridgway Alliance Church of Community Alliance Church in Ridgway, with the Rev. John Tracy and the Rev. Bob Thomas, officiating.
