City home raided by drug task force

More than 400 stamp bags of suspected heroin, baggies of suspected crack cocaine and prescription pills, and nearly $1,000 in cash were just some of the evidence seized from a Butler home during a Thursday morning drug raid, according to authorities.

Also allegedly found at the house in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue were dozens of MDMA tablets, marijuana, scales and other drug contraband.

Arrested were Tywann R. Windham and Kari L. Summerville, who both live at the home. The defendants are facing a list of felony drug charges. Both are being held in Butler County Prison on $100,000 bond each.

The Butler County Drug Task Force, assisted by the county's emergency services unit, executed a search warrant at the home about 6 a.m., authorities said. The warrant was obtained following an investigation.

Officers found both defendants at the house. The search turned up 443 glassine bags of suspected heroin and nine individually-packaged baggies of suspected crack, investigators said.The search also found a baggie containing 101 alprazolam pills, used to treat anxiety and panic disorders; 37 chewable tablets of suspected MDMA, also known as ecstasy or molly; 65 grams of suspected marijuana; as well as $914, four cell phones, two digital scales and drug-packaging materials.District Judge William Fullerton arraigned both defendants on four counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and one count of conspiracy, all felonies. Each is also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
