Neil Curry Swope, 82, of Royse City, Texas, passed away Saturday.

He was born Sept. 1, 1927, in Pittsburgh, to Allan Guy and Mary Elizabeth (McNiece) Swope.

Neil proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He loved to fly and flew for the Shriners. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 429 in Harmony and the Lodge Council Chapter Consistory in the Valley of Pittsburgh.

He enjoyed golfing, and he worked for Equifax as a supervisor/manager.

Neil was an Episcopalian.

Neil is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gwendolyn Grace Swope of Royse City, Texas; daughters, Karen Jay of Round Rock, Texas, and Cheryl Maloney of Rockwall, Texas; and grandchildren, Alyssia Indermuehle of Narrabi, Australia, Marshall Jay of Round Rock, Texas, and Bryan Jay of Austin, Texas.

<B>SWOPE</B> — A memorial service for Neil Curry Swope, who died Saturday, May 1, 2010, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 8, at the family residence, 588 Eagle Pass, Royse City, TX 75189, with Dr. Aubrey Patterson officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, TX 75219.Services are under the direction of <B>Rest Haven Funeral Home</B>, Rockwall, Texas.
