George Cheeseman

George B. Cheeseman, 92, of Portersville, Muddy Creek Township, Butler County, passed away on Sunday at noon.

Born on May 4, 1919, he was the son of the Rev. George H. Cheeseman and Bess Laderer Cheeseman.

George graduated from Muddy Creek Township High School and attended Geneva College. He was a lifelong dairy and poultry farmer in Portersville and loved to restore Ford corn planters when he retired.

George was an Elder Emeritus at the Portersville Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school for more than 60 years. Mr. Cheeseman's commitment to the Presbyterian Church in Portersville began as a child when his father, the Rev. George H. Cheeseman, served as pastor of the church from 1928 until his death in 1946.

In addition to his wife, Grace Shidemantle Cheeseman, he is survived by two sons, Bob and his wife, Marsha Cheeseman, of Nevada, and Vic and his wife, Betsy Cheeseman, of Portersville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings Charles, John and Mary; and great–grandson, Zachary Cheeseman.

<B>CHEESEMAN</B> — Services for George B. Cheeseman, who passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, will be at the Presbyterian Church of Portersville, 1297 Perry Highway, Portersville, at 3 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Dana Opp, pastor of the church, presiding. Friends will be received at the church from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 3 p.m. Interment will follow in the Portersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Portersville Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 126, Portersville, PA 16051, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.Arrangements are entrusted to <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, Slippery Rock.
