The uproar over President Joe Biden's debate performance is misplaced. He was not running for first debater, but for president. In fact, it is former President Donald Trump that should step aside. Consider the following reasons.

1.) He mocked John McCain's service and heroism.

2.) He has slandered service personnel as “suckers” and “losers” on numerous occasions; these quotes have been confirmed by former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly.

3.) I feel his botched response to the pandemic cost hundreds of thousands of lives. Highly esteemed Dr. Anthony Fauci has been turned into the whipping boy to deflect the criticism of his actions.

4.) I feel he is an insurrectionist that nearly succeeded in overthrowing a free and fair election.

5.) He is a convicted felon — the first felon to run for president in our country's storied history.

6.) I feel in the debate he lied and never directly answered a single question. Reading the transcripts makes this apparent.

There is one candidate that should withdraw from the race, and it is Donald Trump.
