Misdemeanors filed against man

EVANS CITY — An argument over a loud pickup truck earlier this year resulted in a Cranberry Township man being charged with 17 misdemeanors.

Ryan M. Gifford, 27, last week in district court waived to court eight counts of reckless endangerment, eight counts of disorderly conduct and one count of defiant trespass.

On July 16 at 11:33 p.m., Jackson Township police were called to the Sye residence on Zehner School Road, according to court records.

Gifford allegedly was driving his truck past the house when he observed one of the homeowners swing his arm, as if he was throwing something, he told police.

He allegedly put his truck into reverse and “charged” partially onto their driveway and started arguing with members of the family.

There also were two small children and multiple vehicles on the gravel driveway at the time.

Both sides told police that there has been an ongoing dispute about loud vehicles on that road. Gifford was released on his own recognizance after the hearing.
