Hartle

Donna Hartle, 79, of Hilliards, passed away peacefully, Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Donna was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Portsmouth, Va. She was the daughter of the late Loyal and Bertha Kriley Dunkle.

Donna graduated from Slippery Rock High School. Donna was married to William Hartle on June 5, 1965, and together the couple had four children. Bill survives.

Donna was a devoted housewife and mother. Her home was filled with not only her children, but she watched numerous neighborhood kids throughout the years. She loved to have her whole family together. She and Bill loved to go camping, especially at Jersey Shore, Pa., where they had a permanent camp site for a number of years. While camping and relaxing she enjoyed reading all types of novels, Sylvia Brown being her favorite.

Loved ones to cherish Donna’s memory are her husband, Bill, of Hilliards; her children, Michael Hartle of Hilliards, Russell Hartle of Slippery Rock, Tina Best and her husband, Daniel, of Parker and Mindy Rhoads (Bill Hildebrand) of Emlenton; her siblings, Gloria Jean Grey of Jersey Shore, Pa., Cindy Fischer of Butler, Louise Lynn (Richard) of Grove City and Wally Dunkle (Tina) of Butler; her five grandchildren, Nichelle Claypoole, Kayla Shay, Melanie Blauser, Darren Best and Deanna Best; and four great-grandchildren, Colton, Percival, Rosie and Peyton. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Donna was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her two brothers, Loyal E. and Carl Dunkle; a sister, Glenda Blauser; son-in-law, Tracy Rhoads; and brothers-in-law, David Fischer and Gale Grey.

HARTLE — The family of Donna Hartle, who died Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, will welcome friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at LARRY E. MCKINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with the pastors Dave and Diana Hutch from Six Points Church officiating.
