James Robert Russell, 90, of Canton, Ohio, passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2024, at Aultman Hospital.

He was born July 22, 1933, in Butler, the son of the late Norman and Alta (Bailey) Russell.

James retired from Akron University after many years of service. He was a Marine veteran, serving during the Korean War.

James is survived by his sons, Curtis (Jennifer) Russell of Spartanburg, S.C., and Eric Russell of Richmond, Va.; and two grandchildren, Curtis Russell II and Kayla Russell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Russell.

RUSSELL — As per his wishes, no services will be held for James Robert Russell, who died Friday, Jan. 5, 2024.

Arrangements are under the direction of HEITGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, Massillon, Ohio.
