Hixson

Arda “Roxann” Hixson, 74, of Chicora, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at the Butler Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born in Pittsburgh on Oct. 31, 1949, to the late Shirley Hixson.

She was adopted and raised by her late grandparents, Lester and Hazel Hixson. Roxann graduated from Moniteau High School in 1967. She had been employed at Castle Rubber in East Butler from 1979 to the closing in 1993, Paragon Diaper Factory in Harmony and the dietary unit at Butler Memorial Hospital until 2003, when disability forced her retirement.

She is survived by her companion of 34 years, Tom Lynch; was the mother of Marten Hoover and Todd Hoover; sister of Sallee Cummins and Sandy (Brian) Jackson; sister-in-law of Helen Hixson; and grandmother of her special grandson, Harrison Lynch. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her cat, Jake.

Along with her mother and grandparents, Roxann was preceded in death by her brothers, Wendell and Ted; and in-laws, Doris Hixson and Walt Cummins.

HIXSON — Services for Arda “Roxann” Hixson, who died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, will be held privately through SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
