Be kind this Christmas season

I'm a longtime Butler resident. I'm just asking. With Christmas coming up, please be aware that there are people that need respect and courtesy. Perhaps grace.

The waitress. Your dinner is a little late. She has other tables to wait on. She's a single mom on a double shift to make ends meet. Have grace and patience.

The elderly man taking a minute more to check out in line at the store has no help.

The overworked cashier is just that, overworked. She's 75 and still has a disabled child at home. She cares for that child without help. So be kind, gracious, patient.

Maybe the car behind you that honked at you when the light changed has gotten a call from the emergency room that their child was in an accident. They need to be there.

Perhaps bear in mind the teachings to love your neighbor, to do unto others as you would have them treat you.

May God bless us with his peace this Christmas.

William Nagowski, Butler
