Shirley Hagerty
Shirley Ann Hagerty, 92, formerly of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Born in Jefferson, Pa., on Feb. 17, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl and Harriet Mae Hagerty.
She was employed for 25 years at Greenville Savings Bank and retired as the assistant treasurer of the bank in 1996. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf and traveling. In her later years she especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Velma Elaine Fults; and brother, Nelson Earl Hagerty.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, David R. Clelland (Gail) of Richmond, Va., and Brad H. Clelland (Betty) of Chesapeake, Va.; six grandchildren, Michelle C. Ford (Chris) and Melinda C. Tepe (Steven) of Mechanicsville, Va., Robert Earl Clelland (Stephanie) and Leland J. Clelland (Morgan Linney) of Chesapeake, Va., Elizabeth C. Gunhammer (Devin) and Morgan R. Clelland of Norfolk, Va.; her sister, Jane Mae Hart of Raleigh, N.C.; eight great-grandchildren, Riley, Dempsey, Helen, Paxton, Lilibet, Kruz, Ryan and Devin Jr.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition, all the Waynesburg and Greenville wrestlers/student athletes who have been a part of her family over the years.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Lund Building (McKinney Hall) and Good Samaritan Hospice for all the care they provided for Shirley.
HAGERTY — Visitation for Shirley Ann Hagerty, who died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023, will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, at OSBORNE-WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 73-75 Columbia Ave., Greenville.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church, 323 Main St., Greenville, with the Rev. David Dobi officiating.
Interment will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Greene County, Pa., in a private service at a later date.
