Linda Lou Sedwick, 88, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at Newhaven Court at Clearview.

She was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, to the late William Rush Kuhns and Mildred (Bloom) Kuhns.

Mrs. Sedwick was a 1953 graduate of Kittanning High School, then went on to Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing, earning a degree as a registered nurse in 1956. In her earlier years, she worked as a registered nurse in the operating room at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Community Alliance Church, where she was very active. Mrs. Sedwick also was involved with the Town and Country Garden Club, volunteered at Meals on Wheels and enjoyed playing tennis.

Mrs. Sedwick is survived by her husband, Jay L. Sedwick Sr., whom she married May 1, 1954; two daughters, Cyd K. Johnston and her husband, Raymond, of Butler, and Joy L. Moon and her husband, Robert, of Lima, Ohio; two sons, Jay L. Sedwick Jr. and his wife, Laurie, of Kennedale, Texas, and Dru A. Sedwick and his wife, Trudy, of Butler; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one nephew; and one niece.

SEDWICK — A memorial service to honor the life of Linda Lou Sedwick, who died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, with the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Linda's honor to the Butler chapter of Meals on Wheels, 218 E. Jefferson St., Butler, PA 16001 or Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, PA 16001.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
