John K. Gajda, 88, of Sunnyview Home, formerly of Lyndora, died Tuesday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Dillonvale, Ohio, Oct. 8, 1918, he was a son of Frank and Mary Gila Gajda.

He was disabled but had worked at Pullman Standard for a brief time.

Mr. Gajda was a faithful and longtime member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, formerly St. Stanislaus Parish, Lyndora. He also belonged to the Polish National Alliance.

Surviving are seven nieces and nephews and his foster family at Sunnyview.

As the last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Gajda, who died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the Activities Room at Sunnyview Home, Sunnyview Circle, where a funeral and blessing service will follow at 11 a.m. The Rev. George Palick, parochial vicar of his church, will officiate.
