William Elmer Snyder
William Elmer "Bill" Snyder, 85, of Butler died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at VA Butler Healthcare.
Born Dec. 8, 1924, in Butler, he was the son of the late Elva Snyder and Rachel McGeary Snyder.
Mr. Snyder worked in the substation maintenance department for Armco, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of North Street Christian Church.
Mr. Snyder was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific during World War II.
He enjoyed bowling, racing and the National Football League.
Mr. Snyder is survived by his wife, Marilyn Snyder, who he married Aug. 16 1952; three sons, Kevin Snyder of Chicora, Craig Snyder of Butler and Kirk Snyder of Butler; three daughters, Lynn and her husband, Roy Deal Jr. of Butler, Chris and her husband, Louis Hernandez of North Hollywood, Calif., and Lisa and her husband, Michael Venditto of Glen Burnie, Md.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Rachel and her husband, Harry Rumbaugh of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
<B>SNYDER</B> — Friends of William Elmer "Bill" Snyder, who died Thursday, April 29, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at funeral home with Pastor Bob Huber of North Street Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Street Christian Church, 220 W.
