Ruth A. (Day) Reed, 88, of Lyndora passed away at 8:56 a.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 30, 1923, in Hilliards, to the late Albert C. Day and Frances M. (Stevens) Day.

Mrs. Reed was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, William (Beth) Reed Jr. of Fenelton; three granddaughters, Elaine Ahrens, Jo Ann (Michael) Johnson and Renee Firsdon; six great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Reed Sr., who she married Dec. 6, 1943, and who passed away May 8, 1979; a son, Gary DeWayne Reed, who lost his life serving our country in Vietnam; three brothers and a sister.

A private burial will be made in Greenlawn Burial Estates.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at Trinity Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
