Caroline M. Panko

Caroline M. Panko, 83, of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, died Thursday.

Born May 18, 1923, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Walter and Sophie Krynicki Knapp.

She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, and a former member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in New Cumberland, Cumberland County, and St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Butler

Mrs. Panko also was a member of St. Theresa Little Flower Club, and she enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, puzzles and all of the old fashioned homemaker activities.

Surviving are three sons, Walter E. Panko and his wife, Margaret, of Camp Hill, Cumberland County, David J. Panko of Newburg, Cumberland County, and Carl M. Panko and his wife, Deborah, of Perkasie, Bucks County; two sisters; six grandchildren, and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Panko, and a sister.

<B>PANKO </B>— Friends of Caroline M. Panko, who died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2006, will be received from noon to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Butler County Memorial Park chapel, Butler Township. Services will follow at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Messiah Village Endowment Fund, 100 Mt. Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.<B>Malpezzi Funeral Home</B>, Mechanicsburg. is handling the arrangements.
