Christine Murray

Murray

Christine Cessar Murray, 73, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026.

She was the beloved daughter of Richard and Dolores Cessar; dear wife of 38 years of Thomas R. Murray; cherished sister of Deacon Richard (Sandra) Cessar, Candace (Greg) Skiles, Robert (Linda) Cessar and Scott (Joyce) Cessar; and the stepmother of Anne (Daniel) Conn, Lisa (Bryan) Seibel and Patrick (Megan) Murray. There are nieces, a nephew, great-nieces, stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren and step-foster children who will miss Chris dearly, as well as special longtime, steadfast friends, Ricki Brown and Andy McIntyre.

Chris formed a remarkable circle of lifelong friends from all facets of her life. She was known for her loyalty, dependability, generosity, her fun-loving, adventurous spirit and her authenticity.

Chris was a dedicated runner over many decades and she and Tom traveled across the country to compete in races. In her later years, she developed a tremendous passion for golf and reveled in wagering on who had the least putts per round.

She had many interests and derived enjoyment from raising her golden retrievers, vacationing in Kiawah Island, S.C., with Tom, her parents and friends, her Catholic faith that led to her hiking the Camino Trail on a mission trip to Spain and Portugal, playing cards with friends, and spending time with family, especially at holiday parties.

Chris leaves behind a lasting impression on her large, extended family and everyone fortunate enough to call her a friend.
