James H. Bohrer
James H. Bohrer, 69, of 2191 Prospect Road, Prospect, died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 30, 1941, in New Kensington, he was a son of the late Albert E. and Laverne M. (Demoy) Bohrer.
He was a 1959 graduate of New Kensington High School and attended Clarion University for two years.
James along with his wife, Dorothy, owned and operated the Moraine Fishing and Camping Center in Prospect since 1973. He also had worked at the Butler Auto Auction, the Pullman Standard Car Co. and American Glass House in Arnold.
He was a member of the Basscasters of Butler County and had enjoyed boating, fishing, gardening, reading and going to Moraine State Park.
He was a member of St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church since 1973, and from 1960 until 1973 he was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church in Lower Burrell.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy J. (Moreland) Bohrer, who he married Aug. 13, 1960, and they had celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August 2010. Also surviving are two sons, Douglas J. Bohrer and his wife, Joanne, of Mt. Laurel, N.J., and Albert J. “A.J.” Bohrer and his wife, Beverly, of Jackson, N.J.; a daughter, Suzanne M. Farabaugh and her husband, Eric, of Ellicott City, Md.; eight grandchildren, Douglas Jr., Jason and Stephen Bohrer, Eric-James and Madison Farabaugh and Sienna, Jordan and Trinity Bohrer; five sisters, Kathleen Barbagallo and Aimee Switala, both of New Kensington, Leah Walsh of Pittsburgh and Karen Becker and Michelle Kotoff, both of New Kensington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
<B>Bohrer </B>— Friends of James H. Bohrer, who died Saturday, March 5, 2011, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 3055 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell. Monsignor James Gaston, pastor, will officiate. Everyone, please meet at the church.
