Chicora receives state loan for water line project
Chicora is set to receive a $1.4 million low-interest loan from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority toward replacing waterlines and associated infrastructure.
According to a news release, the loan will be used to install 6,000 feet of new water line; new residential meter pits, meters and service connections; fire hydrant replacements; isolation valves in the work areas; full replacement of the water line beneath Buffalo Creek and valve vault modifications at the borough’s water tank site in Donegal Township.
The authority provides grants and low-interest loans for the design, engineering and construction of publicly and privately owned drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater facilities across Pennsylvania, the release said.
