William J. Sinz, formerly of Herman, died Thursday in his 74th year.

He proudly served 28 1/2 years with the New York Police Department.

Mr. Sinz was an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 1282 of Merrick, N.Y.

He was the beloved husband of Donna, nee Heitzer; loving father of Ronald, Diana O'Donnell (Thomas), Randall (Jacqueline) and William D. (Jennifer); dear grandfather of Diana, Lisa, Michael and Victoria; adored brother of eight; and cherished by many nieces, nephews and friends.

<B>SINZ </B>— Reposing will be after 2 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Homes</B>, 603 Wantagh Ave., Exit 28N SS Parkway, Wantagh, N.Y. The family of William J. Sinz, who died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, will receive friends from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at The Cure of Ars Roman Catholic Church, Merrick, N.Y.
